2. Putrid Pizza
Sharon Goodridge shared her alarming find on her pre-made fresh pizza.
“We bought a couple of pizzas yesterday (Sunday July 7) so we didn't have to cook dinner because The Voice was on. I opened one of the boxes and had just started cutting the plastic wrap when I spotted it was covered in mould!! We ended up having to order takeaway. The products use by date was July 9. This is not on!”
3. Crusty Chicken
Stephanie Brady discovered crusty chicken and commented, “This is what’s in your window in Cabramatta woolies, thighs and chicken necks are red and hard on top they have been in there that long and the wings are orange it STUNK. Bloody putrid”
“It’s CHICKEN people and if it looks like this in your display cabinet I’d HATE to see what it would look like in that cool room”, she added.
4. Don't say cheese
Dairylea cheese sticks on clearance at Chesterhill Woolworths show a use by date September 2018!
That is over 10 months past the best before date printed on the packet.
5. Slimy Lettuce
Jessica Shaw has shared what she discovered when preparing lettuce for her dinner, underneath the top few layers was a mass of decomposing green slime.
“I purchased an iceberg lettuce for dinner tonight and this is what I get!!!!
This is disgusting!”, said Jessica.
“Don’t think I’ll be purchasing my “fresh produce” from here again!”
6. Burnt Bickies
Unsuspecting customer Lexie Francis was very disappointed when she opened up her Woolies bakery Anzac biscuits.
Underneath the labelling on the lid were what she described as “burnt biscuits, seemingly deliberately hidden under the label.”
On each occasion an online representative for Woolworths has assured shoppers that they are entitled for a full refund when they return purchased items back to the store they purchased them from.
The representative also requested further information on some of the products via private message, stating that they “take incidents like this very seriously.”
