A British-based cheese company known for their outlandish flavour combinations has released a pink cheese flavoured with our good bubbly friend, prosecco, and coloured pink by raspberry.
The Great British Cheese Company added a Wensleydale cheese to their line-up, just in time for Christmas, flavoured with raspberry and prosecco. The resulting cheese is fresh and crumbly, the colour of a pink marshmallow, and boasting a bright raspberry pink wax.
It's certainly the prettiest cheese we've ever seen!
On their website, the Great British Cheese Company says they took inspiration from the classic pairing of Wensleydale and cranberry and decided to take it one step further.
"Pairing prosecco and raspberry with Wensleydale produces similar savoury, sweet and acidic flavour combinations."
Combining sweet fruits with bitey cheese flavours is, of course, the secret behind many of our favourite desserts – looking at you, cheesecake.
Other fascinating flavour combinations produced by the gourmet cheesemaker include Whisky Mac, a cheddar flavoured with whisky and ginger; The Drunken Monk, featuring caramelised red onion and red wine; and Sticky Toffee Tastic, a mature cheddar studded with toffee pieces, dates, and raisins.
