If you’ve made it your New Year’s resolution to inject as much sparkle into your life as possible, well we have just the thing for you.
Spanish winery Gik have just released Unicorn Tears wine - a very sparkly and very pink drop that promises to be the ‘the pinkest rosé that has ever been created.’
Gik says the secret behind the wine is ‘an actual unicorn’ kept in ‘a secret location’ from which tears are extracted using a ‘completely natural process’. Hmmmm, ok then.
More believable is that organic pigments from raspberries add an extra dose of brightness, while Unicorn Tear’s sparkle comes from ‘mineral pigments’. The company says the flavour is fruity and ‘reminiscent of candy’ - which sounds pretty, er, sweet to us!
This isn’t the first time that Gik has hit the headlines with their interesting wines. The company started an international phenomenon when it launched the world’s first BLUE wine back in 2015.
The company was started by a group of entrepreneurs with the sole purpose of creating blue wine, which is a mix of science and technique.
It wasn’t long before other wine companies followed the blue wine trend, making their own version - but Gik remains the original and the best.
Unicorn Tears isn’t available in Australia yet - but given the success of Gik’s BLUE wine which went global, we’re guessing it’s only a matter of time! Watch this space ...
