The torch however, has officially been passed for the 2019 remake.

The Last Week Tonight star will join former Community cast mate Donald Glover (Atlanta, Girls, 30 Rock) as Mufusa’s royal advisor.
He’ll join Billy Eichner and Seth Rogan who have also signed on to play Timon and Pumbaa in the Jon Favreau film.
If we’re completely honest, the thought of a remake has us a bit worried. Why mess with a classic?
